Are you currently navigating a life-altering moment? Perhaps you're experiencing a quarter-life crisis, or maybe you find yourself in the midst of a mid-life awakening. Let's explore some potential disruptors that can shake up our lives:

  • Leaving home for college

  • College graduation

  • Loss of a family member or friend

  • Breakups

  • Business failures

  • Job termination

  • Illness

  • Career changes

  • Pandemic (a universal shake-up that affected us all)

These life events, which occur at various stages, can profoundly impact us. Allow me to share one that may resonate with fellow digital nomads: the transition from a 9-5 job to the unknown. Was I fleeing or seeking independence? For me, the decision was clear, but for others, sudden job loss may trigger similar feelings of uncertainty. Whether it's financial woes or the comfort of security provided by a corporate job, navigating such transitions can be daunting. While I'm not a therapist, my own experience in this transition has taught me a few valuable lessons:

  1. Acknowledge and understand my emotions

  2. Seek wisdom and guidance from others

  3. Share my feelings openly

  4. Express gratitude for past experiences and the limitless possibilities ahead

  5. Embrace the journey

  6. Rewrite my narrative and become the hero of my own story

Think of these transitions as shedding old skin or shedding fur—it's about letting go of the old to allow the new and improved version of yourself to emerge. By approaching these changes with an open mind and a positive attitude, you'll find a guiding light at the end of the tunnel, leading you toward becoming the best version of yourself. Yes, these transitions can be painful—I've personally lost my business, had financial struggles, and the passing of a loved one within 3 months.

With this in mind, remember that we're all human beings with emotions. The next time you find yourself battling your inner demons on the road, consider that your capsule roommate might be facing their own struggles. Share positive energy with a smile, a friendly greeting, or perhaps even your 'chilaquiles.' You never know, a simple act of kindness could brighten someone's day.

Community News

There’s been a random woman wandering around Roma. She claims to have a reservation and then locks herself in the bathroom. She has trespassed into both U-Co Roma and Metro Hostel a few blocks down. If you’re around, keep an eye out and don’t let anybody onto the property who doesn’t have the door code. We want to ensure everyone's safety inside and outside the premises.

In other news, we’ve been exploring new opportunities across Mexico. So, if you know of a great place that we can turn into U-Co Live, give me a shout. I’d love to add more properties that you’ll be happy to call home.

We've added more properties at U-CO WORLD. A marketplace for new locations, experiences, and of course FOOD 🌮 around the world. Keep in your radar if you’re traveling around Mexico. Our goal is to have a Fee-less marketplace for you all.
