Hey U-Co Fam!
Are you currently in pursuit of happiness? Well, stop chasing it. Happiness is like a roller coaster, a fleeting feeling that comes and goes. The highs can be exhilarating, but they’re temporary. So how do we keep those highs more constant?
Like most of us, I’ve had my ups and downs. What keeps me moving during the low moments? It’s not the pursuit of happiness, but striving for my full potential. I want to be the best version of myself, not what society or my family says I should be, but who I truly am. I love challenging myself to constantly improve, and through this, I’ve realized that purpose, not happiness, is the key to lasting joy.
When I was younger, my mother used to ask me, “¿Eres feliz?,” “Are you happy?” And I’d always respond, “Sí,” without really thinking about what that meant. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve come to understand that happiness is tied to living in peace, enjoying life’s simple pleasures, and spending time with the people you care about.
Do I have all the answers? Of course not. But I do know that I love sharing stories, providing housing, and connecting with others on their personal journeys of growth. It’s not necessarily my life’s final purpose, but I feel I’m on the right path.
So if you’re chasing happiness, I challenge you to shift gears. Instead of happiness, pursue a higher purpose, something that not only transforms you but also impacts others. You might discover that happiness is a byproduct of the positive changes you make, both in yourself and in the lives around you.
If you’re struggling to find that positive light, reach out. I’d be happy to help you explore your purpose.
And with that, I self-proclaim myself "The Happiness Architect." Let’s see if it sticks.
Cheers to purpose and to happiness,
Marco
