Hey U-Co Fam,
Imagine your life like this: working 8 hours a day, chilling for another 8, and sleeping the last 8. Oh wait, that's our current daily routine. Why change it if I’m comfortable? Don't keep reading if you’re happy with the status quo. This is for those who want more in life.
When was the last time you felt uncomfortable? No, I’m not talking about the awkward dinner party with your in-laws. I’m talking about placing yourself in an environment where you want to be but aren’t there yet. The infamous imposter syndrome. I remember the first time I became a manager and had a small team of 5. I knew I deserved the role but struggled to demand results from my team members. I felt like I was in way over my head. It took me a couple of months to embrace the new position, but eventually, I did and got great at it. The first U-Co location was the same thing. I felt overwhelmed. But I knew that if I signed that lease, I had to make it work. Scared shitless, I signed the dotted line. I figured out that my skills, knowledge, and ability to create something from nothing were there all along. I just didn’t execute them because of fear—fear of what others might say and fear of failing. To this day, I’ve failed you and failed myself multiple times, but failures are just experiences. Like Thomas Edison once said, ‘I have not failed, I’ve just found 10,000 ways that don’t work.’
All that said, you need to try something bold. You need to go 10X on your goals. Doubling your efforts is a slight improvement, but we’re shooting for the moon, not another walk in the neighborhood park. To unlock your potential, you need the courage to do what scares you, what gives you chills, and what makes your legs shake. Only then will you find out what you’re truly made of. It will feel like jumping off a cliff without a parachute, that is ok. Just remember, if it feels uncomfortable, that means you’re growing. Keep at it.
Here are some ways to get you started:
Set Clear Measurable Goals: Define what you want to achieve in both your personal and professional life.
Create a Routine: Establish a daily schedule that balances work, exploration, and rest.
Leverage Technology: Use productivity tools and apps to stay organized and efficient.
Prioritize Self-Care: Incorporate regular exercise, healthy eating, and mindfulness practices into your routine.
Network Actively: Connect with other digital nomads and local professionals to build a supportive community.
Learn Continuously: Invest time in learning new skills through online courses, books, and workshops.
Embrace Flexibility: Stay adaptable and open to new opportunities and changes in your environment.
Manage Finances Wisely: Keep track of your expenses and save for future investments in yourself or emergencies.
Seek Inspiration: Explore new places, cultures, and experiences to fuel your creativity and motivation.
Reflect and Adjust: Regularly review your progress and make necessary adjustments to stay on track with your goals.
Embracing discomfort and taking bold steps will help you unlock your true potential. So go ahead, jump into the unknown, and see what amazing things you can achieve. We’re all in this together, and I’m here cheering you on. We only have a few years in this world, go make the most of it.
Until next time,
Marco
Community News
Sorry I’m late with this week’s post but it was a painful few days. Running a digital nomad community in Mexico City has its ups and downs. Like any business, every day is a new challenge. We lost the internet signal for 4 days at U-Co. The telecom company said the fiber line was torn, they took forever for them to come out and fix the issue. I truly apologize for that. I pushed them as hard as I could to solve it ASAP.
Our first U-Co Rooms location is up and running. U-Co Polanco ‘Frida’ is getting our first guests starting in July. Give me a shout if you’re looking for an extended stay.
Also, the weather in Mexico City is awesome. Chilly in the mornings and evenings but warms up during the day.
U-CO WORLD is a marketplace for new locations, experiences, and of course, FOOD 🌮 around the world. Keep on your radar if you’re traveling around Mexico. Our goal is to have a Fee-less marketplace for you all.

Time to show off Mexico City. It’s culture, vibe, food, and community is just mind-blowing. I’m biased since I live here but the city has a lot to offer.
